Lake Weissensee is considered one of the most fish-rich and peaceful lakes in Carinthia – a paradise with 22 species of fish for amateur anglers and passionate fishermen alike.

Whether early in the morning on the shore, from a boat or in idyllic bays – fishing enthusiasts will find a wide range of opportunities around Lake Weissensee.

Fishing on Lake Weissensee is possible from 10 May to 22 November.

Hiking

from the lake to the mountain

The Weissensee offers 200 km of varied hiking trails for sporty connoisseurs and ambitious mountain lovers.

From a quick morning walk to a full-day mountain tour – everyone will find their perfect route here. And if you want to go even higher, combine the route with the Weissensee mountain railway or treat yourself to a relaxing boat trip back down to the valley afterwards.

Around Lake Weissensee, there are many pushchair-friendly lakeside paths and easy hikes to the alpine pastures, which are perfect for little explorers. Walking together, observing animals, taking breaks by the water – this makes every tour an experience for the whole family.

Lake Weissensee is a true cycling paradise – with 160 kilometres of varied tours for sporty mountain bikers as well as for families and leisure cyclists. Around the lake, there are wonderful paths through forests, alpine pastures and along the water, which can be explored directly from the farm.

Ambitious cyclists will enjoy the well-signposted MTB routes and natural trails, while families can enjoy the gentle lakeside paths, child-friendly routes and leisurely alpine tours. Those who prefer a more leisurely pace can explore the region by e-bike and enjoy impressive views without too much effort.

Those who want to save their energy can use the mountain railway with bike transport and start directly at the top of the high-altitude trails.

Adventures for young and old

Our neighbour Anna-Lena offers a wide range of riding and horse riding activities: From taster rides for beginners and half-hour pony rides to leisurely 1–2-hour hacks and longer trail rides. Private lessons at the riding arena are also available.

The rides take you through woods and meadows, along lakes and mountains. For children, there is a lovingly designed children's programme with pony rides and guided tours, where they can learn how to handle horses in a playful way.
